Inspired by Carl Jung's theory that every woman has an animus, or male animalistic spirit, and every man has an anima, or female animalistic spirit, this photography series seeks to visualize the natural connection and intrigue we feel towards animals as humans. Visiting every zoo and aquarium in New York City, I photographed candid moments shared between visitors of all ages and various exhibited species.
